What is the difference between braided line and fluorocarbon for bass fishing?

Braid has zero stretch, very high strength-to-diameter ratio, and high visibility — excellent for feeling strikes in heavy cover but visible to fish in clear water. Fluorocarbon has near-invisible refraction in water, moderate stretch that acts as a shock absorber, and abrasion resistance on rocks — the preferred choice for clear water and finesse presentations. Braid is often used as a main line with a fluorocarbon leader for the best combination of sensitivity and invisibility.

What is a NED rig and why does it catch fish?

The NED rig is a finesse presentation consisting of a small (2–3 inch) mushroom-head jig paired with a buoyant soft plastic that sits tail-up on the bottom when at rest, creating a vertical presentation that triggers strikes from inactive or pressured fish.
